The days seemed to fly by in Amsterdam. All of a sudden we're packing up and heading to Koln.
We seemed to wake up pretty late and that wasn't so horrible considering we were up pretty late listening to music and eating Italian food.
We spent the day in Leidsplein which is the touristy shopping center with lots of cafes and lots of nightlife. The day was fun, we went to quite a few boutiques and I bought a few dresses and then we ran into the H&M to stock up on new tshirts and tanks (most of ours either have been thrown away or are down to the point where they should be). I think the whole washing in the sink with hand soap and wringing the mess out of them so they'd dry the next morning is probably the reason why they're becoming a bit pitiful.
Met a very unlively group of Germans at a sports cafe outside. (Yes, I said unlively Germans, I know.) Chatted with them a while over fish and chips (Yes, I said fish and chips in Holland). They live in Hamburg and were out for the weekend. Everyone seems to know someone in Texas and it's almost always in Dallas. I guess that's the place to be. Sorry Houston. Talked a little about the West Coast, but like I said most of them were pretty boring after a long day of God knows what and the one I was talking with seemed to be thinking a little too hard in English for me to have a decent conversation. So off we go.
We head home and then out again to Leidsplein later around 8pm to The News Cafe where we danced a bit and went to a couple other dance places til we found our way to a discoteech (I love that they call them that here). Met a couple nice people from UK, Vancouver, Seattle, Toronto. Headed home after hearing Beyonce's Single Ladies, Lady Gaga's Just Dance, and Queen's We Will Rock You in EVERY place we went (and that's about 5). Considering the fact that Beyonce is annoying at home, you can just imagine our excitement when we heard it for the 3rd, 4th and 5th time.
Headed home and attempted to pack (we were already awake and we know we're not getting up early to pack) and by the time we wake up and call our apartment owner (he said around noon would be fine to checkout) at around 12:15 he says in his adorable british dutch accent "oh, thought you were staying til tonight, just leave the key under the mat" Okay, well I guess we didn't have to get up early to finish packing and clean up the apartment. Oh well, it's time to move on Amsterdam.
