Monday morning. Just got back from Lembongen. Well quite an experience. To get there we had to wade out to the public boat carrying all our bags and Ella, then climb aboard. It was a large open boat with outriggers and took an hour to get to the island. It's very pretty, with clear turquoise water and almost white sandy beaches. There are a few bars and resturants along the beach, but much quieter than Bali. The main activity is diving. We had a really good Bali food buffet for dinner.
Second day we went across the island to dream beach. There are only about 10 cars on the island, but the beach resturant sent a truck for us. Quite hairy sitting in the back of an open pickup roaring through the rough jungle roads round blind bends. But what a sight when we got there. It really is a dream beach.
The beach consists of a small sandy cove with crashing waves. The back of the beach is all terraced with sunbathing areas. You climb up the small cliff to the only bar and resturant, which has great views over the bay, all open air. We stayed till quite late supping drinks before dinner. Certainly the most magical place so far.
We now have to prepare for our next trip as we are off to the volcanic lakes at Bedugul in the morning.
