To end my epic journey up the east coast of Australia i went on a day cruise from Cairns out to the Great Barrier Reef.
-approximately 344,400 square kilometres -can be seen from outer space -is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms.
It's pretty cool!
The weather was beautiful and the sea was clear and the weather was hot and the boat was fast and we visited Michaelmas Cay and Paradise Reef snorkelling in both spots and stopping for lunch.
At Michaelmas Cay I blew my budget and went for a scuba dive. I spent about half an hour underwater, swimming around the reef seeing all the fish and coral and it was brilliant! I also swam with a turtle, swimming along next to it and stroking it. It was really beautiful and one of the best things i have done the whole time i have been away.
There are lots of photos here, including some of the turtle and some of me taken with an underwater camera.
