The whole tour was decided at last moment, but it was confirmed that we will drive the whole way.

I took some tips from one of the drivers and luckily found out that right headlight should have a yellow strip to avoid direct glare for oncoming vehicles. It is mandatory as per Gujrat RTO. Lucky to get this tip and also yellow tape from this driver.

We packed our stuff and left Thane residence and took the Mumbai Ahmedabad road. It was me, my wife and son, therefore enough room in my Scorpio, The stretch is good but inbetween there is construction work going on, so slightly slow. We reached a very close family friend at Baroda and they forced us to stay overnight at their place.

In Morning we had a good breakfast and left for Mt. Abu. We took the bypass and then took a halt at Mata Ambaji temple. The temple is amazing but to our surprise it was highly fortified. Military with their weapons were guarding the whole temple.

We took the blessings and then left for Mount Abu. Mount Abu is at 1220mt above sea level and in Rajasthan. Famous as a Hill Station

Based on whatever we had heard, I thought Mt. Abu is difficult route. But surprisingly the overall stretch from base to top is smooth. Also the Ghat section is not tough and actually a smooth ride. it was basically 30km from down hills and probably 10km ghat section

As usual, after getting to Abu, we had to search for hotel and since it was vacation time, the tariffs were hiked up. On the way we thought of doing some sight seeing which was possible in quick time.

Good for us we got a superb hotel with decent tariff for one night. We checked in. Next day we saw some of the most popular places like Prajapita Bhamakumari's place, Dilwara Jain temple (amazing craftsman ship) If you love to see marble carvings, visit Dilwara and you would be amazed to see this. Saw Nakki lake, its usual lake but since it is most visited we went there. My wife found some shopping place and had good clothes out there.

Further we went to Guru Shikkar to take blessings at Hindu temples

and late evening we starting descending towards the highway to Udaipur.

We took a new highway as told by localites and also they told us to quickly reach Udaipur before sunset but we never knew the reasons.

To our surprise we started on the new highway with absolute ZERO vehicles on road. In between there were lots of detours because of the road construction.

In the pitch dark we were afraid because we didnot knew whether we are heading Udaipur or some other place. The highway was newly getting constructed therefore hardly there was traffic nor road signs.

At one point we saw a jeep and we just followed it. In between it stopped and then I asked the driver, it was good to know that we were heading correctly. After almost 2-3 hours lonely driving we reached the Udaipur and we felt great. I was lucky that I had full tank, otherwise it would have been tough time.
