More or less as soon as we arrive, we meet Brian and Jenny from the New Forest and Stefan and Corina from Austria but now living in Germany. We all seem get along like a house on fire (hope you understand that one Stefan/Corina!) and spend most of our time in their great company.
One of the countries we have wanted to visit for some time is Austria…
Stefan and Corina have offered to give us some advice on planning such a trip and as they have travelled in the UK but never to Yorkshire, we hope to be able to reciprocate sometime in the future. Stefan does a great Brummy accent, very funny.
Brian and Jenny are originally from Poole and are seasoned sailors. They very kindly introduce me to the hobby (sport?) and we hire a catamaran (Hobie) for a sail in the clear blue waters around our island – wonderful! In my enthusiasm, I promise this is something I must learn and announce my intent to join the Scammonden Sailing Club! Yeah right!
