Oh yes, Hanoi is full of motorbikes! They are everywhere and it's very scary especially because they like to drive on the pavement as well as the road. "Don't worry," said John "they won't come too close." the trouble is, my idea of too close is very different to theirs!
Other than the terrifying ordeal that is crossing the road and the horrific 24hr bus ride to get here with the abusive taxi drivers directly afterwards, we've had a really good time in Hanoi. We've walked everywhere and seen quite a lot of stuff and of course chilled out a lot by the Hoan Kiem Lake in the center of the city.
We've mastered the art of bartering (we think so anyway!) and bought new flip flops for me (the last pair were falling off my feet) and new sunglasses for John (the last pair were lost to the Mekong, there is definitely a cool fish swimming around somewhere!).
We're heading further north tonight to Sapa for some trekking for three days followed by three days chilaxing on a boat in Halong Bay... it really is a hard life all this traveling business! :)
