Lauren and I haven't left yet, but I figured I would go ahead and get started. We decided about 3 weeks ago that we were going to buy some plane tickets to Ireland and just go from there. So, we booked some plane tickets to Dublin for a ridiculously low price and decided we would figure out the rest later.
Last week, we sat down at a little tea shop, ate some really good Vietnamese food, flipped through books, and looked online trying to figure out where we were planning to go. Five hours later, we had a basic itinerary, our rental car booked, our flights scheduled, and our train tickets reserved.
So here are the basics...We are going to start in Dublin, rent a car, drive to the west coast of Ireland (Galway), and then travel down the coast, possibly doing a bike tour of the Dingle Peninsula. Then we are going to drive back to Dublin, drop off the rental car, and hop a train to Belfast...
I did learn a fun fact. Belfast is in Northern Ireland, which is actually a separate country from The Republic of Ireland. Yeah, I am horrible at geography. But back to our itinerary...
So after hitting up Belfast, we travel via plane to Glasgow, Scotland, before heading to Edinburgh. Next stop after that, we are heading to London for a night and a full day before heading back to Dublin to go home. I got train tickets in the mail. Next goal...packing.
