We arrived at night, and our Apartment overlooks Darling Harbour, which at night is pretty spectacular.
We walked from our hotel to the Sky View Tower, where we had a 360o view of the city. We then walked to Circular Key where we could see the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, before we walked though the Botanical Gardens and then back through The Rocks area of Sydney.
We went off to the Blue Mountains, where we went over the valley on the Skyway, which is basically a horizontal cable car with a glass bottom, once over we then went down on the Train, which we had been advised to use first by people we had met in Ayres Rock, and they were right, to go down the side of the mountain at an angle of 52 o was quite frightening you always had the feeling that you were going to fall forward. When we reached the bottom we walked round the boarded walkways, which to be honest were not up to much, just like walking though any wood. We then used the Cableway back to the top. We then had a couple of stops so we could see the Three Sisters and other views. On the way back to Sydney we drove past the Olympic village and some of the stadiums before catching the ferry back along the Parramatta River, which came into Sydney under the Harbour Bridge, which gave wonderful views of the Sydney Skyline, the Harbour Bridge as well as the Opera House.
We caught the ferry to Manly, which is supposed to be a good surfing beach, but while we were there, although it was good, I would think it could be better. Manly was a very relaxed place and at a much slower pace than Sydney itself.
