Arrived at Auckland Airport in New Zealand at midday today. Compared to England the weather is warm, but compared to Fiji it is cold, so i am feeling pretty cold over here!
I took a bus to the hotel where my tour departs from, which is great because it is very central. It is on Queens Road which is right in the middle of town, opposite the town hall, so there was lots to see close by.
I walked to Auckland Domain, a big park near the middle of town with Auckland Museum in it. At the museum there were some good exhibitions of Maori and South Pacific culture, and a display on volcanoes with an earthquake simulator which was pretty cool.
There are going to be 8 of us travelling on the 21-day tour from Auckland to Christchurch in our cool bus - 'The Chariot'
I'm looking forward to it!
