Arrived yesterday without any mishaps (I even found the hostel straight away, which was impressive). I'm in the old town, which is compact and lovely, and sort of empty in a peaceful way rather than an eerie way. I think it must be mostly for the tourists (of which there are quite a few, so I don't feel like I'm the only one wandering around for a change).
So yes, The Fear has evaporated, as has Annoying English Tourist guilt, which is a big relief.
From what I've seen so far, Tallinn is nicer than I thought it would be. Different to the other cities I've seen before somehow, even though it's hard to say why. Maybe its the Baltic sea being nearby (you can see it from the hill). Anyhoo, I'm off to take some photos today so that you all can feel suitably envious.
