It seems odd to start a travel journal on a day when I said goodbye to many of the people I've met here and been hanging out with. It's certainly a downer but more people will come and more people will go. Traveling alone is the art of constantly saying goodbye. Although I'm not really traveling, merely staying in one place as others travel through. I'll do a brief run down of this interesting mix of fellows.
Carlos - Aka Dr. NYC. I've been working with Carlos over at the Soft Power Health clinic attempting to absorb some of his medical knowledge. Despite having never met before I felt that we had become good friends. Some people even thought we'd known each other for years. Its amazing what spending the day together watching a goat sacrifice, working as a team trying not to vomit up the food we were being served and drinking local jerrycan beer will do for a friendship. It's been awesome to know such a down to Earth physician.
Wylie - A fellow kayaker from the UK who seems to permanently live in Canada on the Ottawa river. I first met him while going to a local concert featuring "Jose Chameleon" apparently the biggest musician in Uganda, who never showed up.
