So Mike and I headed off to the Maracas Bay Agritourism park today. Mike had seen an ad in the Caribbean Airlines flight he was on coming down this month. So we scouted it out on the net and sure enough we found it: http://www.maracasbayagritourismpark.com. They have just barely opened but what a treat. It's about a mile from the beach in a very diverse neighborhood. The family that owns it have been working for about three years on this 5 acres of land to present the tourist and the native with a great natural lesson of the diverse crops on this island. Everyone I spoke with from Trinidad had never heard of it, but they plan to run ads in the local paper next month. If you're ever at Maracas and you want to see something really neat, drive over and check this out!
