Mike and I headed out to Maracas Bay yesterday for a shark-n-bake at Richards and kick around on the beach a bit. There was a P&O cruise ship (the Oceana) in Port of Spain,filled with English folks. Many of them grabbed a maxi taxi or hired a car to come over to Maracas. It was fun watching them load up the peppa sauce and then not be able to eat the sandwich! Interesting cruise, started in Aruba, ends in Crete! Beautiful day at the beach, I've bought a small cooler bag and toted a six pack of Heineken so after the shark-n-bake we wandered over to the beach and found a bench in the shade right at waters edge, perfect. Then all of sudden we had a rescue of a man by the lifeguards. The waves were about 6 feet or so and the rip tide was pretty bad. It was a perfect rescue by the lifeguards, very impressive.
