Sorry, I won't be able to upload pictures during the trip. The computer at this hotel is set up to block uploads...or that is what I think it said. It's all in German. And the 'y' and 'z' kezs are switched so if some of mz words look funnz, well go ahead and laugh.

I will post a longer update once my iPod is charged up. Even though the screen is so small, I have an easier time typing on it than I do on this keyboard. Karneval was crazy as will the pictures and video show eventually. My friend gave me a shirt to wear for our evening out on Sunday...Scott even painted my face, but it didn't turn out too well. His, on the other hand, did stick well enough to have a red streak on his cheek the next morning :) Yesterday was a recovery day for both of us. I think we enjoyed the Kölsch beer a bit too much...and the Jagermeister and some other sweet liquor Patrick found at the club. Hmmmm =) We went to watch the parade for a bit with Patrick and got some Kamelle (candy). Germans are big on gummy candies. More on the parade later. It has a bit of history in the city and I'd like to cover some of it for you.

Today, we went back to the Dom and climbed one of the towers. Pretty freaky at the top - I got a bit dizzy (or diyyz lol). 509 steps wasn't too much at all to me...but Scott was huffing all the way to the top. There were quite a few tourists in the Dom this time around - it was nearly empty last week when we stopped inside. We also got a little shopping done along the Hohestraße, or the street with all the shops near the Dom. Clothes are very expensive here as are shoes... I found a pair of LaCoste and Adidas shoes that I really liked, but when they are 100€, I have to rethink buying them. More shopping to be done in the next couple of days including a cuckoo clock for a friend and some mixed drinks from the gas station. High class is what I strive for lol!

Tomorrow, we head to the tourism office downtown at the Dom to pick up our Welcome Card for the next three days. This card provides us with free transportation, museum and other attraction discounts until Friday evening. A bonus even though I kinda enjoy not buying a train ticket to see if I can get away with it. I know, maman, slap on the wrist. Too bad you're 4000 miles away hahaha!!! Köln Zoo tomorrow and then Patrick's father will pick us up for dinner in the evening. More familiar faces!

Hopefully I'll write tomorrow if my toy is charged up...

Next entry: Whirlwind of a week...
