Rishikesh - Final Chapter

Putting the stolen mobile aside, overall, my experience in this town is good.

The three classes kept my schedule pretty full starting with Ayurveda in the morning until noon, break for lunch, Reiki was next with a couple of hours break and two hours of Private Hatha yoga class that concluded at 8:0 pm.

For a place where everything shuts down at 8:00 pm, there was no time to spare for other extra activities. The good things is that safe, healthy, eating places with international cuisine are nearby and are ready to serve myriad dishes from Israel, Russian, Italian, Mexican, American, German, French and of course North and South Indian food.

I did not leave much time to spare as I have more destinations and my time is ticking. What would a better way to punctuate the visit than to raft the Ganges. That’s right! So that I did! With 17 kilometers of spectacular view, calm, serene, fresh air, I felt so close to the Gods up in the heavens. I asked and told God, “Dear God, I know this place is very special for a reason. If the entire earth was created like this, then no one would appreciate its beauty. Thank you for this opportunity, for this moment to reflect and enjoy. I feel so blessed.”

The train to Amritsar leaves at 9:40 pm. It is a 10 hours journey. Another learning experience for me is that I did not really know the difference between a sleeper and an AC train. When I hear AC, I think of cold. Why will I take an AC train in the middle of winter? I was told that it has blankets and sleeper has none. So I took the AC train and this time I was dressed warm with the extra sweater I bought from Laxman Jula.

Destination, Amritsar.
