Hello......
We have returned after visiting Halong Bay (google it to see some pics!). We started with a three hour bus journey, which was good because we got to chat with everyone. We then got onto the boat and went around the bay. It was fairly chilly because of the wind. However, we went kayaking which was fantastic, where we went into a cave which was so tranquil. The food on the boat was nice and then at night everyone got v.drunk on the top deck and we did a little bit. Unfortunately though our room was just underneath the top deck and so it was v.noisy. The next day, we went to Cat Ba Island and stayed in a nice hotel. We didn't do much apart from sunbath (Noel has a trucker tan now-hee hee). We went for dinner with the guys from the boat and had a good laugh. Bev this one is for you--- I love the banana milkshakes here!!!!
Upon our return to Hanoi today we have checked into yet another hotel! This one however is the 'suite' room in a posh hotel---eek, not so much a travellers budget but the room is amazing (no ants and quiet). We have our own computer, a power shower which is really fancy and complimentary wine! Ok so we have gone a tiny bit over budget but we'll pay anything for a good nights sleep.
