Yesterday we got another snake call at the office. The caller - our neighbor. The snake - a cobra. The location - about 20 feet from the front door of our cottage. Mark, Butch, and Jason went down and pulled out a Snouted Cobra from a log that we walk within a few feet of many times a day.
Not an hour later, same neighbor calls. They now have a different cobra under their kitchen sink.
There is a local guy that is in the hospital (if you could call it that) here right now who was bitten by an Anchieta's cobra the other day. The public hospital here is ass. The locals never want to go there - they say that's where you go to die (I am hoping nothing ever happens that we need medical care for!).
Just got back to the office after walking from my house after lunch. Heard a crash in the bush, came around the bend and there was a HUGE Snouted Cobra, sitting smack in the middle of the road, all flared out. I had to stand there for like 5 minutes before he decide to move off into the bush.
Eeeeeeeshhhhh! Scary. 'Tis the season, I guess...
