Monday unfortunately a lot of museums were closed. However, we did make it to see The Little Mermaid, Rosenborg Castle and Christiania.
Being at Rosenborg made me realise that a lot of things I never quite believed in are in fact real. Like castles, crowns and thrones. Yes, the fairytales do actually have a source...
Christiania was interesting, though it was dark by the time we got there so we couldn't see any of the crazy murals properly. It's a sort of hippie alternative community with semi-separate legal status from the rest of the country... cars aren't allowed, but soft drugs are. I couldn't really decide whether I liked it there or not.
And now, back at Mum's house, I'm sick. I have a cold, so I had a lot of trouble staying up for New Year's. Made it, though, and the fireworks were everywhere! Anyone can set them up here - unlike in Australia, where it's illegal for consumers to buy them - so I saw some go off only metres away for the first time. I was terrified! They were so loud and right about our heads, I seriously thought sparks of flame were going to land on us! We also jumped off chairs as midnight ticked over. "Jumping into the new year", that's the idea apparently. Fun.
