On Sunday I went to the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, a massive art gallery, where I gazed with awe upon actual real millenia-old statues of gods and goddesses I'd read about since childhood - Isis, Aphrodite, Apollo, Pan, Dionysis, Sekhmet, Anubis. Oh, it was so wonderful... I adored the ancient Egyptian and the Greek and Roman statues. They seemed so magical. I also enjoyed reading information about old burial rites and sacred ritual, and... slooking at ancient cooking equipment. :)
Then I had free pancakes while watching the ice-skating! It was an event organised through the CouchSurfing website. Two intrepid souls stood out in the below zero weather beside the ice-skating rink for hours upon hours, making pancakes for anyone who came by - out of the goodness of their own hearts. Amazing. I swapped numbers with a Malaysian girl from Berlin in the queue, I hope to meet up with her when I'm there.
Then I went to the Theatre Museum, saw the ruins under Christiansborg Castle, and finished off the day in the National Museum where I saw massive rune-stones, Bronze Age jewellery and mysterious cauldrens. After which I was just about ready to fall into bed.
