Hellllooo everyone!
Well this will be one of my last updates before we leave for Germany and Hungary! We will leave tomorrow for copenhagen around 8am and we'll be back on the 29th around 8pm. Sooo the highlights of the last week or so are as follows...
On the 17th we had our secret santa night on our corridor! It was really great, we decided a few weeks back that we would pick names out of a hat and buy that person a present for no more than 120 SEK (about $20). I got a stocking and a little Christmas teddy bear from Eri and Isaac got a Swedish book of animals and a phone charger/stand. So that was really fun, and on that same night Moad decided to make us all dinner! Which leads into the next story...
So because we all had a big dinner together, the kitchen was A MESS. Plus Eri had her cousin and her Swedish BF over and they were making a different dinner, so the kitchen was in a really bad state. Also the oven doors fell off.
So anyway, we decided to leave it for the night and get together the next day and do a big clean. However, that night, I guess Moad went out and when he came back, he decided to make food...at 4am. But all of the oven pans had grease and stuff on them from before so when he put stuff in the oven it started smoking...A LOT. And the fire alarms went off. But not only did they go off on our floor, but every single floor in the building (there are 7).
So then fire brigade ended up coming and people had evacuated the building etc. and of course the fire men came to our floor and saw the incredible mess and broken oven doors and burnt food...so they knew it was us. And, I should mention, that if you set the alarms off for carelessness you get fined 6000 SEK (not us, just Moad, thank god).
But here's the best part. The next day, we all put in a good 2 hours cleaning everything, fixed the oven doors etc. and when we were done the place was spotless. Then later in the afternoon the inspector came to our floor because he had gotten the report from the firemen. He thought he had the wrong corridor! And Isaac and Chris played dumb and were like "yeah...I don't know, we heard the fire alarm...and yeah, our kitchen is obviously clean...and the oven doors work..." haha. Because if they had come up and saw the state of our kitchen earlier that day we would have gotten in trouble. So it all worked out in the end.
Anyhoo, other than that, we all went out on Friday and had a good time and since then everyone has slowly dropped off:( It's now only me, Isaac, Rob, Edwin and Varcha on our corridor. Me and Isaac leave tomorrow and Ed/Rob leave on Tuesday. So it's very sad.
But I will update one more time when I get back from our trip and then I'll be home and get to see you all again! yay!
