Hello everyone!
Well I finally got to go to Denmark. It's only a 45 min train ride from here but it took me until December to get there. Sheesh. It was worth the wait though because it was lovely and we had a really good time! I ended up going with seven other people (not including Isaac unfortunately, he had work to do). But we went to Tivoli Gardens, it was like a christmas village with rides. It gave Disneyland a run for its money on being the happiest place on earth, I tell ya. It was really great, and I've put up some pictures of it so have a look see.
Then we just walked around the city streets, saw the outside of the royal palace (the inside was closed), and watched the ice skaters in the square by the harbour. Then we went for something to eat and eventually made our way back home.
It was a pretty full day because when we got home from Copenhagen there was a huge party going on in the student housing unit right beside ours. They had four floors sectioned off for the party and each floor had a different theme of music. There was xmas, rock, 90's...and I forget the other one, but it was pretty cool. What made the party fun though was the fact that there was about 10 of us playing drinking games before hand, and for some reason one of the "rules" of the drinking game was that you had to say either "in my pants", "in your pants" or "in his/her pants" after every sentence. It was really hilarious and so we decided to keep it going at the party and not tell people why we're saying "in my pants" after everything we say. So for example, someone would be like "oh hey! I haven't seen you in ages, in my pants". And so on. Really distasteful but full of hilariosity. I have it on video. It's glorious.
Then the next morning we had our Canadian day!! It was really great. We had about 13 people and we made pancakes with maple syrup, ham with maple syrup and our French Canadian friend made poutine. We gave out all of our t-shirts and hats etc. and people just loved them. So thank you back home for sending that stuff!! We even played some Canadian trivia and sang the national anthem. In French and English. Oui.
Well that's pretty much all that's new and exciting, me and Isaac are off to Gothenburg on Friday and then it's Santa Lucia day on Saturday so I'll be sure to update again next week.
TTFN
Love, Rachel (xoxo)
