Hello Friends,

Hope all is well in the U.S of A?

I am having a great time in Egypt with my family. I met up with my aunt, cousins, and their kids. I literally got off the plane and went straight to a Museum tour. 11 hours straight from NYC. We went to the Egyptian Museum of Cairo that houses excavated tombs and mummies. It was kind of scary and exciting at the same time.
When you hear the history and the formulated ideas the early Egyptians used to preserve the souls and their immortality, you would be amazed. Some of the mummies were so well preserved you could see details in their faces and etc…
King Tuts tomb was my favorite exhibit. He had a room built inside of a room, inside of a room, inside of a room, that didn’t necessarily have a door but was but was a box inside of a box, inside of a box, with one final corridor. Keep in mind, this was dug up.
They said they recovered about 3500+ items in this tomb from jewels to etc….It was almost as big as my condo. Unfortunately we were unable to take any photos in this museum.

That night we went out to a local Egyptian Seafood restaurant called Kastin. I ate pizza, due to my allergies. = )
We stayed at the Hyatt in Cairo that was gorgeous, parallel to the Nile. The area had a busy nightlife. To end the night we smoked the hookahs (called Shisha in Egypt), and enjoyed the scenic view. They brought us out some snacks consisting of hummus and babaganoush. There were women sitting next to an outside stove making fresh pitas. Yummmmmm…. And a lovely orchestra playing traditional Egyptian music.

My cousin and I snuck out to a local discotechue and boogied Egypt style. I never heard 50 cent mixed with some middle-eastern music. It was awesome!

xoxo M
