Getting started...

With just over a week to go until I depart, I'm getting this blog set up and continuing with my preparations. It was farewell to my flat on Friday (with me in an exhausting one-woman chain-gang - packing, putting boxes in the loft, scrubbing the kitchen...), and then it was back home to Gosport and goodbye to Hannah, Hannah, Neil, Charlie, Carl and Sarah at the Bun Penny last night. It was a lovely evening - and now I'm well equipped with a 'she-wee' and all sorts of useful little things for washing my knickers and dealing with strange foreign plug-holes while on the road (thanks to Charlie and Sarah's thoughtful present-giving!)!

Well, the sun is streaming down here on this late September morning, and the solent is a beautiful sparkling blue, plunging me into thoughts of all the kinds of things I'll miss about England when I'm far away. Gosport is probably not going to be the most exciting entry in my blog, though, so I'll keep this brief and save the lengthier descriptions for when I'm further afield.
