David Neidert grave marker, Fort Logan cemetery, Denver
The next morning we hooked ourselves back up and were on our way. We had two things we wanted to get done as we headed up to the Greater Yellowstone area. We had two folding bicycles we had bought and needed to pick up and we wanted to visit the cemetery where my Uncle David had been buried.
We got the bicycles after traveling through one of those suburbia places on the outskirts of Denver that seem to go on forever. We had the advantage of having a computer to look things up on Google maps but sometimes that doesn't seem to help everything.
The Google map got us to the Fort Logan cemetery finally. Some of the roads change names or skip areas but we finally found it. The cemetery is a sobering place. There are literally row after row of gravesites stretching as far as the eye could see. Thanks to the information Fazzer had sent us we were able to go right to the area where David's gravesite was.
We visited, reflected on then were on our way. It is sobering to think about the number of soldiers who have either given their lives or were buried there because they served in the military.e marker, Veteran's Cemetary, Denver, Co
