After an adventurous 3 days sailing we took a 4 hour bus and a ferry to Magnetic Island. We spent 1 full day and didn't waste a minute of it. Up at 8am 5 of us - Tracey, Frenchie (France), Ciao (Brazil), Tara (London) and myself set off on a full day of exploring the island. We took the bus to the Forts Walk which was a great walk resulting is panoramic views up and down the east coast including Florence Bay and Horseshoe Bay. We could see all the way over to the main harbour of Townsville, as well as Palm Island. On our way up we spotted 4 koalas, including a baby one snuggled into its mother - so cute!! We spent the whole day walking from one lookout/bay to the other including Radical Bay, Balding Bay and Horseshoe Bay.
Our last stop was Picnic Bay where we raced up to Hawkings Point lookout just in time to catch sunset and see some more fantastic views of Rocky Bay and Nelly Bay. On the way back we spotted a small wallaby chilling out in the middle of the bush!
Altogether we walked for 14km - exhausting but totally worth it!
