I find myself in a town that is so similar to Azul in Argentina I have to keep reminding myself that I am now in Uruguay !
On Thursday I left Buenos Aires and got the boat over the Rio Plata to Montevideo in Uruguay. Compared to BA, Montevideo is small and relaxed. The old town area is really quite attractive and it's a nice place to spend a couple of days.
Yesterday I got a bus north here to Tacuarembo, not quite sure what made me choose this town, way off the gringo trail which is nice but there isn't a lot to do. But I've got a room (nice not to be in a dorm) with cable tv so I can just chill and enjoy the Olympics (aren't we doing well by the way?!)
I'm due to meet Sonja on the Brazilian side of Iguazu falls on 29th August so I've got just over a week to either hang around in Uruguay or should I go over the border into Brazil tomorrow and introduce myself to the joys of the Portugese language now ??!! Decisions decisions !!
