Notes from my journal "Our Summer in Australia and New Zealand" available through my website www.marshallpublications.com More info and pictures there.

We arose early from our night of "spotting," to a hearty Australian bush breakfast, but unable to explain why the kangaroos have so far eluded us. We were leaving for home and about a mile from Avalanche Homestead when we spotted them. A large Mob, as kangaroos in large numbers are called, of about twenty-five. We approached with caution wanting to get some photographs in their natural habitat. As you can see, they were standing still, about a quarter mile away, but we had been spotted. I only had time for the two shots, the second a fleeing Mob. Elysee, my wife, called it a beaucoup kangaroo moment.
