I'm still here!

Finding affordable wireless internet access in Leipzig has been a challenge. I finally found a nice coffee bar with free wireless, so I bought a mango smoothie, found a seat, and here I am. I am in Leipzig, which is where JS Bach spent 27 years of his life. He was the cantor at the Thomas Church (Thomaskirche). I spent the week attending morning classes, walking around the town, and visiting some historical sites. There is an outdoor concert tonight and tomorrow that I'll be attending and then I may take a day trip to Dresden on Sunday. There are many great places to shop in Leipzig, but the exchange rate is keeping me from buying anything substantial. Plus, I don't want to drag more stuff all over Europe.

There is a lot of construction in Leipzig, and all over Germany for that matter. There are still remnants of the Communist era mixed with modern buildings. I hear that rental properties are relatively cheap and there are approximately 2,000 building that need repair, renovation, or demolition.

More Later.....Take Care!
