"Tallinn was one of the most protected cities in Europe during he midle Ages, ringed by fortifications, high walls, towers and guarded gates. Fortunately almost all of the 2km of the old city wall survivied along with 20 of its 46 towers."
The town square and its surrounding narrow, cobblestoned streets and pathways are just a delight to stroll along. Try to avoid a day when the cruise ships are in, but don't avoid going there at night especially on a weekend. It is the center of life in this adorable city.
