Dahab, part one

We had a few more hours on the bus before getting to Dahab, our home for the next five days. I attempted to sleep on the bus but wasn't able to. Ian and I were very happy to arrive at our hotel. It was very small but cute, with the Red Sea only steps away. Our room was a decent size but did not have a TV. It did have a large air conditioner, thankfully. The bathroom set up was strange...there was no real seperate area for the shower. The bathroom was a sharp rectangle, maybe three feet deep and 10 feet long. The toilet was on one end, the sink in the middle, and a shower head was mounted on the far wall. There was no curtain, just a drain and squeegie to push the water with. The bathroom would be soaked after each shower.

Ian and I took long naps and missed the walk in town Georgie was taking the group on. We figured that we could explore later; at the moment we were too tired to do anything.

We were very hungry when we woke up. Lining the Red Sea are scores of small cafes and restaurants. They are all very cute, with an open-air arrangement. Many have pillows and tables and you are expected to sit on the floor and lean on the huge pillows. We chose a cafe and relaxed happily. For the rest of the day and evening, Ian and I took a walk around town, relaxed, and got more sleep.
