Although my location has me marked down as being on the Isla del Sol I am actually in Copacabana which is on the shore of Lake Titicaca. Near the Isla anyway !

So, as promised I have had no major adventures since my last mega-entry so this will be quite a short one !

I left Lima on a bus heading to Arequipa that was due to arrive at 7:30am and then I had booked on another bus to leave at 9am to take me to Puno. Unfortunately the Arequipa bus arrived at 9:40am so I missed by onward bus so had to hand around in Arequipa for the night - no major problem as I loved this town before and gave me a chance to enjoy it for one more day.

So, next morning I bid my farewell to Arequipa and headed for Puno, a town over on the shore of Lake Titicaca, the Peru side. I had heard that Puno at night is quite possibly the coldest place ever and omg it certainly lives up to expectations, it was below freezing. It's an ok sort of town with a nice port that does tourist boats but to be honest I'm a bit "tourist-tripped" out for the moment, just happy to chill in new places. The journey to Puno was pretty impressive though, seeing wild llama just hanging around on the alti-plano.

So, this morning I left Puno and headed over the border to Bolivia, a very easy border crossing, no problems. Got to start getting my head around the new currency - Bolivianos they call them. Copacobana is a small town on the Bolivian side of Lake Titicaca and as far as I'm aware has absolutely nothing to do with Barry Manilow, nice place, chilled out. Most people here do a trip to the Isla del Sol, birthplace of the Inca peeps or something but I'm going to give it a miss and jump on a bus tomorrow to La Paz - highest city in the world, apparently they have oxygen bars there, you can rent an oxygen mask for 10 minute intervals - should be interesting !

Next entry: Where's all the oxygen gone ??!
