Day 2 was pretty active. After breakfast, we took a bus up to Wartburg Castle. The castle overlooks Eisenach and has a long and interesting history. An interesting note, Goethe and Luther lived there for short periods of time. We went on a tour of several rooms and finished with the Great Hall where concerts are still being performed today. A group of us decided to walk back down to the town and we thought we were lost on various occasions. Everything was good though. After lunch, we went to the Bach Haus and listened to some Bach pieces played on early keyboard instruments and learned lots of great stuff about JS. I then had an afternoon snack, OK it was a Banana Split, took a break and headed over to St. George Church to sit in on a Bach Chorus rehearsal. After that, we had dinner and ate until about 10:30pm. By the way, it doesn't get dark around here until that time. Wow!
