Today was hot. We decided to go to San Diego. It is about an hour drive from Laguna Niguel. Lauren (Chris's sister), Chris, Paolina, and I went to San Diego today. We had some maps and a GPS system to get us around. Lauren drove.
When we got there it was already lunch time so we decided to find a place to eat. We came across the Westfield Mall and decided to see it. We went up to the food court and ate some stuff. I had a philly cheesesteak and all 3 of them had Mexican food. Then we decided to get some San Diego souvenirs downstairs. The mall we went to was so colorful and huge! The malls in California are typically all outdoors. They definately use the great weather to their advantage here. After the mall we drove to Balboa Park where we went to the Museum of Man which is an anthropology museum. It had old Californian history, Peruvian and Mexican history, Chinese and Ancient Egypt history. It also had a lot of facts about man. It was pretty cool.
After that we walked around a bit. There were weddings taking place at Balboa Park today. We then decided to go to Coronado where we wanted to see Hotel Del Coronado. It is a famous and huge hotel right on the shoreline. The sand there shimmers in the sunlight. It's amazing. There was a wedding going on there too.
After that, we went to a few shops and I got a World Map. Then we decided it was time to have dinner and we went to the Coronado Brewery, which was also on Orange Ave. (where Hotel del Coronado is). I had a Shrimp and Scallop Pasta dish and it was delicious.
Well, today was pretty cool. We got to see San Diego, CA. Oh and by the way...I've been noticing that the cars in CA are all relatively new. I haven't seen any crappy-looking cars here. In addition, the cars are all pretty clean. It rarely rains here.
We have plans to go to Universal Studios and Hollywood in Los Angeles tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that...
OH...I forgot to mention: yesterday Paolina and I booked our vacation within our vacation. We will be in Mexico City shortly, but for my birthday weekend, we booked a mini weekend getaway to Acapulco, Mexico!!! I'm so excited. =)
