I'm back in Jakarta after a brief few days in Bali and I hate that I have to leave so quickly! My flight to Bangkok is later this afternoon and I'll probably just have time to do some quick shopping around Jakarta with Anne and Sara (couch surfing friends!).
Bali has reigned supreme on my travels thus far and I am already planning out in my head how and when I can come back to Indonesia. There is so much I did not get a chance to see or do, and my lack of photos from Indonesia will attest to that! Everyday in Bali was spent on the beach, surfing and lounging, and every night was spent with the new friends I made there.
It's strange how you can fall in love with a place so quickly (despite the travel advisory listings...thanks for that Roula!) even though you have barely seen any of it. I've already decided that my next big trip is going to include a month in Bali, and a couple more weeks to tour the country. And possibly learn Indonesian so people will stop seeing me as a dollar sign! So that is Indonesia for you! Next stop is Cairo for a day as part of my layover on route to Athens. By the 26th of June I will finally be in Amsterdam and ready to continue the European Edition of Summer 2008!
