What's up everyone! We have many pictures to share, we can't upload them now due to time and speed. We will upload when we can--so check back!
We are having a great time, right now we are in an upstairs internet cafe in downtown Maun. There are girls singing worship songs at a nearby church, boys dressed up in native clothes, and subs blaring music by the supermarket we are about to shop at. It is alive!
We have to shop for snacks and water for our 3 day excursion onto the Okavango Delta. We ride in on a makoro(canoe) and get around with some guides steering our makoros and protecting us from hippos and other animals. No showers, primitive camping. I, Aaron, am really excited. Oh, Laura says she's stoked about swimming with crocs.
Here's the Game Drive Specs in Etosha Park. There are 114 Mammal species in Etosha. It is a huge dried up lake bed with watering holes sporatically around the park. We all gathered in our tried and true green truck, and forged into the park in search of anything we could see. Heaps of Zebras, giraffes, and springbok lost their novelty after an hour. We wanted something bigger. Then, a clue from another safari guide. Leopards were spotted up the trail. We sped up and saw something shoot across the road. Sure enough, it was a leopard in the bush. Really quite amazing. It is rarer to see a leopard than a lion(soon to come) A small family of pacaderms(elephants) hiked right in front of us. Believe me, we have more pictures than you have time to look at.
Hope your summers are going smoothly.
Love, Aaron and Laura
