Alright,

I have typed up a big speal about our siteseeing in Brunie - but as wi-fi is hard to get here we have found, I haven't had time to put it up yet.

So what have we been doing so far since being in the UK.

We arrived on Monday morning nice and early at 6.30am in Heathrow. Stew and I slept for most of the flight between Dubai and London, so where a bit alert, although, I had a can of red bull just to give me an edge :)

We had a bit of a sticky situation coming through customs with my visa. They needed an address of were we where staying, and Stew and I couldn't remember the name of the hostel. Lukcly we sort of made up a name (turned out that the one we said was right though) and they let us threw. After waiting a while for our luggage, we went through to the car rental desk. Stood there for about an hour and this stupid couple at the front of the que hadn't made a booking and where trying to get a car... much aggrivation there. But no worries, got the keys, got on the bus to all the rental cars, into the car, turn on the sat nav, and off we went.

Suprisingly, it was very easy to get out of the whole airport area and onto the M something up to Manchester. We where expecting a few hassels, but not a one to be had.

It took us about 3.5 hours to get up here to Manchester, but had one stop at a service centre for some more red bull and toilet break.

Once we arrived in Manchester City, that was when things got a bit interesting as thought the hostel was down a street with road works. Turns out, we just drove past it a few times. When Stew spotted it, we pulled up and came into the hostel. It is pretty nice. We are in a double with a private bathroom, so the convience of a hotel, but not at the cost. The only draw back is that we are on the 3rd floor and there is no eleveator, so we had to lug our 78kg of luggage all up those stairs. but these things make you stronger and fitter :)

On Monday I had a mission - find somewhere to live. So jet lag wouldn't get us down too much, Stew and I went out exploring in the city, mostly to look for real estate agents. I went into a few recruitment agencies, which have panned out quite nicely. We went into a few real estate agents as well and when we told them that we wanted to move in tomorrow a few of them laughed - but I was on a mission. We did go into one real estate agent and when we said what we wanted, he was like, can you view this afternoon? yep, no worries! We went and viewed two places, the first was a bit small, and the second place was perfect. So we went down first thing Tuesday morning and put down our £570 deposit and we get the keys tomorrow :)

On Tuesday, it was more walking around and getting to know the city. I registered with hays, and yesterday registered with Kelly services.

other then that - there is nothing really to report. we are ticking along nicely and luckily expereincing UK weather... rain and wind :) but having a ball
