Wow I cant believe its been over a month since I updated this thing!! Ooops!! haha
Well since I wrote last I haven't really been up to a huge amount. Mainly job hunting in Cairns & Townsville. Unfortunately it has proved a bit difficult as office work is highly sought after up here so coming across temporary work to suite you is very difficult.
However, I am now working at a plush 5* resort on Magnetic Island...it is very nice there & the staff are lovely. Obviously I dont have any experience in the hospitality field but everyone there has been very kind & trained me up to work in the restaurant & bar...and I'm actually really enjoying it. It's so different from what I'm used to & I'm very grateful that I'm doing something different as well. Plus its good fun!!
I went out to a Full Moon party at one of the hostels on Maggie Island the other nite which was good fun...lots of drinks & funny pictures!! I had work at 10am the next and that was more than painful!
I have left work temporarily though to come to Alice Springs, where I flew out to today. The weather is lovely here during the day but it gets bloody cold at nite this time of year. Down to 3 degrees - which is cold for me now!!
I am starting a 5 and a half day tour tomorrow so wont be able to get online at during that time & will have limited phone signal - yikes!! The tour is a 3 day tour of the Red Centre (Alice Springs, Uluru & Kings Canyon) and the other 2 days are the trip down to Adelaide via Coober Pedy (a mining town where everyone lives underground!!) So that shud be good fun.
After that I'm doing a 3 day tour of the Great Ocean Road down to Melbourne & then flying back up to Maggie Island to carry on working. I'll prob work there for a few months & then go and do the West Coast.....well thats the plan I have in mind at the moment anyway....you know what I'm like, always changing my mind!!!
