Oh I forgot to mention that on the day we arrived to Bangladesh the girls all went to a salon called Persona to get our hair and stuff done. I got my eyebrows threaded. I got a haircut, and a hair oil massage. It was incredibly relaxing, and really very cheap. I really like my haircut :)

I have to go now, and I am very disappointed that I can't describe my experience here thus far, but I must say that it has been unforgettable at that! I will be leaving for India tomorrow. We will be going to Calcutta first.
bye

ok let me continue: so on sunday, june 1, 2008 mahah's father arranged for a tour guide to take us around Dhaka and Bangladesh since Mahah is taking summer classes. We had our driver, Sifuel Cha Cha drive the four of us: Me, Becca, Paolina, and Chris to a brass-making village. We saw the process of brass-making. It kind of reminded me of making fancy cakes using fondant (spe?). It was really interesting, and while we were walking we saw wild monkeys jumping around. After the brass-making village, we visited a pottery-making village. This village really opened my eyes to village-living. Women would use there bare feet to mold the clay to make pots for plants. There was this woman who held a naked baby and was just making pots. It was such a sight to see. I mean I have seen villages in China in Wuzhou, but never like this. I was surrounded by what looked like to be poor people. They do not make too much money doing what they do. This experience made me realize that there are less-fortunate people who feel extremely content with their lives because it's what they grew up doing. It's a typical life for them.

day 4:

Today we had a relative;y relaxed day because we wanted to do some souvenir-shopping while Mahah was in class. In Bangladesh people have class from Sunday-Thursday. Their weekend is Friday and Saturday as opposed to Saturday and Sunday. Anyways, today was a Monday. So if you are ever in Dhaka, Bangladesh you have to go to Aarong for souvenir shopping. The prices are not too too bad, but the quality is there. It flooded and rained a lot today. There are constant street-sellers on the street as well as beggers at most crowded intersections because they know cars will stop and the people in the cars have nothing to do. On this particular day, there were shoe-less children walking and running around trying to sell these flowers called Baily. They have a really nice scent and really remind me of the Jasmine flower.

We were visted by Mahah's relatives today and they invited us to a traditional Bangladeshi wedding! We were extremely honored, but we found our we were only able to attend the tumeric celebration as well as the reception because on the day of the wedding we were going to be in Sylhet (to the tea gardens).
