Having met our new intrepid group the previous night we headed off on the overnight train to Khao Sok National Park, apparently the oldest rain forest in the world.
We arrived very early that morning and found ourselves right in the middle of the forest staying in little private bungalows on stilts surrounded by the most amazing wildlife, we couldn't keep our doors or windows open as the monkeys like to steal your belongings.
Our first activity that day (which was my birthday) was to go tubing, basically we floated down the river on rubber rings, it was such a great way to see the area around us apart from the little fish that kept biting us, I got bit on the finger and when I pulled my hand from the water the little bugger was still hanging on there by his teeth!!
When we finished tubing myself Stephen and Cat went for an elephant ride through the rain forest, it was an amazing experience to see these beautiful creatures and it was nice to see them being so well looked after in there natural habitat rather that being pulled round on chains in Bangkok at the end of the ride we got to feed the elephants and it is amazing how gentle they are.
(Unfortunately our camera broke in Khao Sok so we have no photos of elephant ride but cat is going to email them to us so we'll get them up soon.)
That night it was time to celebrate my birthday, it was also Dans birthday coincidently so it was a double celebrations. We headed to a bar in the middle of nowhere, the view was amazing from the balcony with just the full moon and mountains, it was a great night all round with plenty of drinking dancing and good craic!!!
