Drummers: No Sticks Allowed in the Airplane

OK, I'm coming to terms with the fact that I don't have a lot of common sense. Let's just say that you shouldn't try to take your stick and mallet bag with you on the plane. The incident happened at Orlando International on my way to Buffalo/Niagara International. I was thinking more about saving $20 than on what was in my suitcase. After a thorough search of my luggage at the security checkpoint and a short explanation of why I have a selection of ten different triangle beaters, I was told that I had to go back to check my bag. Unfortunately, it was too late to check my bags. So, with 25 minutes until my flight departed, I was stuck with a bag of sticks and nowhere to go. My car was, of course, parked far away in the "cheap" parking section. The friendly AirTran baggage person helped me out at the last minute and I was able to catch the flight. I was prepared to start crying, but didn't need to.

I'd also like to send a shout out to the Orlando TSA workers for their diligence.
