-I went to see Sex and the City yesterday at the theatre. They're very strange here about the cinema experience. You can't purchase tickets until about 10 minutes before the show is about to start, there are no concessions - no popcorn, drinks, candy, hotdogs, etc.- just a couple of vending machine in the lobby, and most of the theatre floor was sloped toward the back of the room so everyone was tilted back, like every seat is a front row seat.
-Everyone slokes, everywhere, all the time. I think I'll probably be addicted to second hand smoke by the end of my trip.
-Everyone here has the 'right of way', whether they're driving, walking, biking...doesn't matter. You knoz how kids don't see people who are in their way and they just bump and crash into them until they reach their destination? It's like that here, but with adults. And sometimes if you dodge and change your directions to avoid being thrown off course by a stroller or swaying handbag it confuses people so much that they move too an you get hipchecked anyway.
-Fruit is incredibly expensive here. A single banana can cost over 50 cents, an orange close to a dollar. Interestingly; grapes are wildly overpriced but you can get a good bottle of wine for §3.
-People here love bread and eat it all the time. If they don't have a ciggarette in their mout itůs probably because their busy eating a giant stick of bread.
Still waiting for the sun to come out. Hopefully I'll have something more interesting to write about soon.
