Hello everyone!!

Was it a great weekend or was it a great weekend!!! The Mighty Pies clobbering the cumbersome cats!!! I think that game has most definitely set the tone for the rest of the season!!! I followed the game on the internet and then listened to the final moments and the amazing club song through ABC radio on the net.

The weather is certainly getting warmer here. I have become quite adjusted to the heat, so much so that when Ben has the air con on too low I start to get cold!! The only time the heat is really noticeable is when we park the car outside in the middle of the day and come back to it...OMG...

We have met up with some fellow Aussie’s here...some friends back home gave us their details. It’s been really good to hear the Aussie accent!! And through them we have met more people. We were given tickets to ‘picnic in the park’. It was really good. It was a picnic/jazz concert.

We went to a Bavarian night at a German restaurant in Jumeirah. It was a buffet with alcohol included. The food was so yummy! The wine was even yummier!!! We left our car there, because in Dubai the alcohol limit for driving in ZERO! They don’t have random breath tests though, it’s only when you are involved in a car accident that they do a blood test.

The weekend here is Friday and Saturday. The best time to avoid the shops (especially IKEA) and the cinema is on a weekend. It gets so busy. If we eat out on a weekend we go to Festival City, as their food court is not as packed at Mall of the Emirates or Deira City Centre. Food is very cheap here and eating out is even cheaper. We can get yummy food at the food court for two people which costs about $10 AUD. Most restaurants provide unlimited soft drink refills too.

Bon Jovi – where do I begin?? It was an amazing concert! He is an excellent performer. I knew all the songs...and enjoyed their new songs. My ticket to Bon Jovi was an early birthday present from my lovely parents...the best birthday present ever!!! My birthday is not for a while anyway...just remember 08/08/08!! ; ) I hope you have seen the photos from Bon Jovi. Ben took them all. We sat in the front row of the seated area and Ben was able the use the rail to stabilise the camera.

Life has been very busy here. I do apologise for not keeping everyone up to date. Either I am busy, or the freakin internet is down. We have moved to International City for the short term living in a one bedroom apartment. We do plan to find a two bedroom place so that we can accommodate many visitors! I finally got my hair cut etc. It wasn’t the same as my fabulous hairdresser back home – Anita Long is amazing!!! The hairdresser here did an ok job, but it was really difficult trying to explain to someone what I wanted when English isn’t their first language.

Feel free to drop me a line to let me know how you are going...and how cold it is. Hope you are all well.

Cheers,
Anita : ) xx
