I dont even know were to start it was that good. Well I guess ill start at the beginning lol!
An early start to the day up at 6am and made a good fry up for breakfast...was yummy. Starting to feel really nervous about it but so excited. Beth arrived as calm as could be, no fear at all. We finally got picked up by Jacko in the wee skydiving bus and off we went on the 2hr drive down to Mission Beach. Me being me I slept the whole way lol...had to do something to stop me thinking to much about it. Arrived at the small Tully airport and out we got.
All the forms etc were processed, just saying that ive signed me life away! Me, Luc and Beth were put into group 4 so off we headed to Mission Beach to watch the first couple of groups land on the beach. It was such a perfect day...no clouds to be seen and the sea was so so clear, absolutely beautiful!
14000ft up we could just make out the wee plane. Its was amazing when you freefall from that height you cannot see the person from land its that high up...they only really become visible when the parachute is nearly ready to be opened!! I watched in absolute amazement and started to really get the shits about what i was about to do lol!
Back onto the bus to the wee airport and time to get suited up. We got into the wee harnesses. We then got to meet our skydivers that had the lovely job of getting me back to solid ground lol. I got Pierre who just great. I said a few words to the video camera and then hopped into the wee plane. We were all sitting backwards cramed in like sardines lol! Off we went...the flight was great we could see over the great barrier reef it was just so so beautiful. Then it was time to get hooked on, the strapes tightened up and the goggles into place. I cant describe in words how nervous i was at this stage...i really was scared shitless!!
The door of the plane was then opened and we got the biggest blast of wind ever...the adrenline really kicked in now! Beth was the first out the door and i could see her fallin...it just gave me the shivers. I was the 3rd person out. I shuffled along with Pierre towards the door and sat with my legs hanging out of the plane. Next thing was arms folded, head back and off i went!!
We tumbled a few times before facing earth and from then onwards i had the time of my life. Freefalling was just brilliant...i could feel every part of my skin being sucked off me it was just crazyness. Here's a fact of you's i fell from 14000ft to 4000ft within a minute at a speed of 150mph! Its was the best adrenline rush ever. Then out came the parachute...i didnt want the freefalling to end.
Gliding down to Mission Beach was so beautiful...just hanging in mid air taking in the scenery was just out of this world, so stunning. The sea was so clear from above that i could see some turtles! Then i took control of the parachute...Pierre left his life in my hands lol. We did the swirly thing left and right and the in loops it was great craic. Then came the landing and Pierre took control...knees had to come up and in we landed...i did pretty well to land on me feet, Luc had the knee landing and Beth did the bum landing! and that was that...i was still buzzing i just want to do it again and again. So note to mum...i might consider to learn how to skydive heehee!! Its definitely been one of my best experiences and one i will never forget and im sure i will be doing it again!!
