Hangin’ with Banana Slugs – Not So Tasty Slime

Day 20 –

For the first two weeks of my trip I had really went all out, but the last two days in Redwood forest were slow easy ones, but I decided that I could use one more. I drove around the park some more, walking several small forest trails, taking pictures of banana slugs and trees. When I could I would stray off the path to explore little creeks and to climb downed redwood trees. I should mention that one of most powerful memories was when the sun would peak in through the forest canopy and highlight the rotted scattered guts of fallen and ravaged redwoods. The sun emphasized the deep dark red in the trees wood, which matched nicely with the green lush broad-leafed undergrowth. That night, fresh out of wine, I stuck to Di Sarrono, which goes down nice and sweet while reading a book in the peace of the campground.
