Arrived in the beach town of Sihanoukville. Lovely area with a nice beach and plenty of beach bars to keep the party going. Still a lot of poverty in the area with lots of street kids selling braclets and collecting cans a reminder of how a country is still bouncing back from hard times.
Our first full day was jammed packed. Went for a boat ride to one of the bamboo islands stopping half way to do a spot of snorkling. My first time doing it proper and got to see coral and sea urchens which was cool. Landed on the beach and the locals cooked up a great picnic with BBQ local fish with an excellent curry. Walked round the island where we found an amazing beach all to our selves. That evening we ate and drank to the wee hours of the morning. The local speciality ws "the bucket" half a bottle of Mekong Whiskey, tin of red bull, some cola for colour and plenty of straws. yum. all for $2.50.
Our second day was our relaxing day though we had a spot of trouble when michelle was mugged by a motorcycle cowboy. Thank God they only got away with very little but a scary affair non the less.
Next stop the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh
