Back into the 'home' life

Hello everyone!

I realize that it has been several months since I have updated everyone on the spontanaity and chaos of my life - so I shall try to make this update of the last few months informative... and not overkill :)

Well the rest of our time on outreach in Guam and Saipan was incredible. We learned a lot both as individuals, and as a team. A lot of doors opened in our time away that allowed us to get to know the people and the culture that we were in, and my team had many opprotunities to share what God was doing in their lives with the people in Micronesia. We led a total of 23 church services, visited nursing homes, hospitals, and prisons, we ran school programs and outreaches in welfare communities, as well as getting to know people in local markets and neighborhoods. It was 2 months of growth and hard work that each one of us enjoyed immensly.

After our outreach was over, we spent another 24 hours traveling back to New Zealand to meet up with the other outreach team. We spent one week debriefing the intense six months that we had just spent together, and got ready to re-enter into our lives in 'the real world' outside of the Youth With A Mission family that had been created in this season. It was a great time of catching up with friends, sharing stories and laughter. After myself and the other 4 staff had the privelage of graduating all 16 students from the DTS I spent a month traveling the south island of New Zealand with a good friend. We camped, hitch hiked, met up with good friends, and explored new places. It was a wonderful relaxing time that we both enjoyed.

After many months of being away I returned back home to Michigan in mid March. I arrived home the week of Easter and it was wonderful to see my family right after arriving back. I quickly began working as a waitress at the restaurant I have worked at off and on for the last five years, and even signed up for some classes at University which start in 4 days. It will be the first time in 3 years that I have been in school. I feel as if it will almost be like adjusting to a whole new culture after working with Youth With A Mission for the last 2 1/2 years, but I am looking forward to the change.

As for the future... I am hoping to get a degree in some form of media, possibly photojournalism, and using that tool to educate and disciple people about injustice issues overseas. This would tie together a lot of different things in my life that I am passionate about. I am looking forward to the opprotunities that will open up in the future, but for now I am in Michigan, and enjoying the time that I have here.

Sorry for the lengthy update, but thank you so much for everyone who took the time to read! I hope that you are all doing well and stay in touch!

~ Krispy
