Leaving Sydney

2008-05-06, Sydney, Australia

Once again we are sad to be leaving teh great city of Australia. However, at the same time we are looking forward to returning to Singapore.

We have had a great time in Australia and after recovering from our hangovers got out to Circular Quay and Bondi Beach (One of my favourite places in the whole world - That we've been to so far!)

The next day we headed to Hamilton Island in teh Whitsudnays and then caught the launch to Hayman Island for the wedding. The setting was stunning and teh wedding went well. Unfortuantely, the general service levels in Hayman were poor, especially given the amount of money it costs to stay but you could not fault them on the wedding.

We left Hayman only to be told at the launch that our early morning flight to Sydney had been cancelled and we arrived at Hamilton Airport to be told we had to go via Brisbane flying out at Lunchtime and this basically meant we lost a day in Sydney so we were not very happy. Also due to the usual "relaxed" attitude of the staff Charlie had to spend the next two hours on the phone to Qantas organising her parents flight as they wre due to catch a connection in Sydney to Singapore. Everything was sorted out in the end and we made an unscheduled visit to Brisbane.

Eventually we were back in Sydney and were keen to make up for lost time so packed as much in as possible to our last day, starting off with a ferry trip to Manly Beach a a walk along the coast line, followed by visit to Harry De Wheels pie van for a Pie, pies, mash and gravy stack (yum yum) then a long walk around the botanical gardens. We then headed out on the ferry to Darling Harbour to look around the shops then one last look at QVB shopping centre to pick up a boomerang and some clapping sticks. We then collasped exhausted in our hostel and after sleeping for thirty minutes headed back out to Darling harbour to visit our favourtie restaurant. It has been great to come back to Sydney and once again it is very hard to leave.
