Ryan and Selita's Wedding

2008-04-10, Honolulu, United States

The day started out a little cloudy and we all worried that it could rain again during their outdoor wedding. Karin, James, Sandra, Phong, Isaac, and I went to the 3 Lagoons in Ko 'Olina in the morning and just kinda hung out. The sun came out for a little bit and we waded in the lagoon. I found out later that Isaac got a sunburn, so never trust clouds!

We got ready and headed out to the James Campbell estate. It was a still a bit cloudy, but it just made for more shade and nice weather. The ceremony was short and sweet, only like 75 people were at the wedding. As soon as Selita started walking down the aisle she was crying, which made all the girls start crying, and it was pretty muc like that for the whole ceremony. It was very beautiful, and you can tell that they are so in love and happy to be with each other.

Afterwards there were lots of pictures taken as the open bar started and I had 3 Li Hing Mui margaritas in the span of like 30 minutes, as well as double-fisting the red and white wines. The reception was at the same location so we literally just turned around and the tables and tents were all set up and ready to go!

Their food was set up very nicely, with 5 different food stations for your various tastes, like the appetizers, the meats, the desserts, etc. Ryan and Selita really started liking each other through their swing dancing class back at Chapman, so their first dance was a swing dancing set their teacher had choreographed for them, and it was amazing! I always love their swing dancing, he lifts and throws her around and it always looks like so much fun!

The reception went really fast. They had only 3 speeches, and most of the time we were running to the blueCHEESE photo booth (a great idea, Sandra!) to take cheesy fun pictures since we were finally all together. There was a DJ for some dancing afterwards, but I was just too damn full to move.

It promptly ended at 9:30pm and we packed up and headed out. The guys and I were ready to go out and party, but I fell asleep during the car ride into town and then just ended up crashing at Ceci's place. I guess Isaac did the same thing, so Kevin took him home, and Mike and Ceci were the only ones left standing, so they ended up talking until like 2am. I must have been really tired cuz I was sleeping in the same room and didn't hear a damn thing.
