Hey Guys,
So I am finally off to my site to live there for two years. Itīs pretty scary considering that I have to buy everything for my place...bed, stove, refridgerator and load it ontop of a bus and have them deliver it to me. I do have a place to stay, actually 3 places. I havenīt decided which one I want to stay at. I can stay in the crappy part of town in a nice house, or with teachers in the nice part of town or with a single teacher in the crappy part of town. Ok, itīs not really the crappy part of town, itīs just on the highway and it doesnīt look pretty there.
I have $400USD to spend on housing supplies, which to my suprise, will be spent very fast. Things arenīt that cheap here as I would expect, especially nice things.
The volunteers around me, for the most part, are nice people. There is one that gets on my nerves. Sheīs so needy and whiny. I don't think that we'll hang out that much.
So, no more once a week phone calls to the parents. I live in the middle of nowhere now. No more, 2x a week internet viewings. No more restuarants to eat in. I may or may not be ready for this, but we will see. They say that the hardest months of your service are the first 6 months (training and the first 3 months of being a volunteer). Iīm at the halfway point now, so there's no turning back for me.
I'll send another update to you guys in a month more or less.
