Our 2 weeks in Palolem, Goa were the most relaxing 2 weeks I have ever had! Most days consisted of sunbathing on the beach, eating many Indian curries and of course the odd light "refreshment" in the evening!
In Goa all music in the bars must be off by 10pm every night, there aren't any nightclubs near by so there aren't many options come 10pm (except consume copious amounts of alcohol). An events company called "Silent Noise" hosted a few parties while we were there - most surreal parties I have ever been to! From 8pm to 10pm the music plays as normal, come 10pm the music stops and is played through headsets instead. The sound was amazing, so loud and clear! Was so strange when you took the headphones off the place was full of people dancing about in pretty much silence with the odd "woo hoo" erupting from the dancing headphone people. We took hipflasks of apple vodka with us (2 pounds per litre), needless to say it was headaches gallore the next day...for the whole day! Brilliant night though.
The same company also hosted a similar event but with dvds! Was like an outdoor cinema.
The second party we went to was an 80's disco night. At 10.30pm everyone was just getting into the swing of things when it started raining..... and not just a shower, was like a monsoon! Then the power went off for about an hour, bar staff were pouring drinks in the pitch black using light from their mobile phones and lighters - was crazy!! Again great fun though!!
